wednesday

I spent all morning working on stuff online and cleaning my room to make way for a second mattress. Then I went to Starbucks and met Tom and Youngja, friends I met in Korea. I led them home and we all sat in the living room for a while and chatted.
Tom took a siesta and Youngja and I went to the Rambla so I could get Steph a Barca scarf for her birthday. We looked at the petshops and Youngja saw her first porcupine. They have some crazy stuff out there for sale as pets!
Then we wandered into a market. It had lots of realy lucious looking fruit. I got a little box of pre-cut strawberries for a Euro and some dried fruit. They also had candy. We looked at the sea food and Youngja thought the shrimp looked too bright to be real. We walked the rest of the way down the Rambla to the sea (port) and talked about how for us, a Korea and an American, Barcelona is amazing. We're not used to this kind or architecture and everything is awesome.
We went back home and got Tom and then walked to Lalola where we had dinner for Steph's birthday. They weren't ready for us so we had a beer while we waited for a table. We ended up being a party of ELEVEN with everyone that lives at Steph's, me and my guests, and the Swedes. I had the half-chicken with fries and aioli which was amazing, of course.
Then we went to play pool. I felt slightly guilty for staying on the table for the whole night, but I was Steph's partner and it WAS her birthday. Then we went home. It's a bit of a squeeze to get me, Tom and Youngja all into my tiny room to sleep! They suggested putting the spare mattress in the living room, but Rik and Alix had sort of hinted that they didn't like that idea. Oh well. Cozy, it is for tonight anyway!
