outrage on friday

WHAT KIND OF COUNTRY IS THIS IF THEY DONºT EVEN HAVE THE INTERNET AT STARBUCKS?!?!??! Starbucks and wifi are practically synonymous, right?

I SO want to update you, but it seems to be IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!! Perhaps from Paris?

The first 80% of my day was great (more on that to come later) then i got lost trying to branch out into a new area to eat and then i finally found starbucks after having to give in to macdonalds and they donºt have internet! They said thereºs wifi upstairs but no one knew how it worked except the information desk lady who was missing for like 10 minutes. I would have to go to another place to buy a card to get the internet and then come back to use it. not happening. until maybe tomorrow. i went home and now someoneºs playing AWFUL music and coughing up a storm and the lack of heat is starting to sink in. woe is me! however starbucks is in a mall with a cool food court. thatºs a plus! iºll probably go back there tomorrow.

i had a very busy day! hereºs a brief list of what i did:
ºcastelo de sao jorge (castle)
ºse catedral (cathedral)
ºmonsteiro dos jeronimos (monastery)
ºtorre de belem (tower)
it was a BEAUTIFUL day, sunny with a bright blue sky and warm enough for me to eat breakfast outside (around 11, in all of my layers). my camera battery threatened to die all day but never did even though i was allowed to use it at all of my stops!

one other thing that iºm outraged about... PORTUGAL ALSO HAS A GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE. It looks exactly the same-- crosses on the 2 pillar bits, straight wires down from there to hold up the bridge, itºs even red! Theirs has a train on the bottom. We should consider adding something like that-- could help the commuters. It was very distracting. Seeing the Golden Gateºs little twin brother made me miss the real thing! good thing iºll be home soon. tourism is hard work!
